Last updated: April 6, 2026

ChildWise Learning, LLC (“ChildWise Learning,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our website and learning platform at childwiselearning.com.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your full name, email address, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form), and optionally your US state of residence and job title.

Learning Records: As you participate in courses, we collect and maintain records of your enrollment dates, course progress, assessment scores, quiz attempts, completion dates, CE hours earned, certificates issued, and contact hours logged. These records are required by IACET accreditation standards and state licensing regulations.

Survey Responses: We collect your responses to post-course satisfaction surveys and follow-up surveys. These responses are used to evaluate and improve our courses in compliance with IACET quality assurance requirements.

Support Communications: When you submit support tickets or accommodation requests, we collect the information you provide in those communications.

Usage Data: We automatically collect certain technical information including browser type, device type, pages visited, and general usage patterns through Vercel Analytics.

Payment Information: If you make a purchase, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit. Our application is hosted on Vercel with enterprise-grade security. Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing (bcrypt) and are never stored in plain text.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication tokens, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate our platform:

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We only share the minimum information necessary for each service to perform its function.

Data Retention

In accordance with IACET accreditation requirements and industry best practices, ChildWise Learning retains learner records — including enrollment data, assessment scores, certificates, and CE records — for a minimum of seven (7) years from the date of course completion. This retention period ensures that learner records are available for verification by employers, licensing agencies, and accreditation bodies.

After the seven-year retention period, records are flagged for administrative review. Records are not automatically deleted and may be retained longer if required by applicable law or regulation.

Account information (name, email, password) is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion at any time, subject to our obligation to retain learning records as described above.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Cookies

ChildWise Learning uses essential cookies to maintain your authenticated session (the “cwl_token” cookie). This cookie is required for the platform to function and is set when you log in. It is an HTTP-only, secure cookie that expires after 7 days.

We use Vercel Analytics for aggregate usage statistics. Vercel Analytics is privacy-focused and does not use cookies for tracking. It collects anonymous, aggregated data about page views and web vitals.

Children's Privacy

ChildWise Learning is a professional development platform designed for adult learners. Our services are not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
